Author Speak Series 2025

Kicking Off 2025 with Inspiration: First Author Speak Session of the Year

The Library & Pegasus - The Student Book Club at M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, in collaboration with The New Indian Express, hosted its first Author Speak session of 2025 on January 27th. The event featured Ms. Shwetha Sivaraman, Founder of Being Meraklis, M.O.P. alumna (2009–2012), and author of the widely acclaimed book Far from Fine.

Living Life Intentionally: The Invisible Price of Autopilot

In her engaging and thought-provoking talk, Ms. Shwetha
emphasized the high price of living life on autopilot: life itself. She shared her personal journey of self-discovery and inspired the audience to shift from a passive existence to one of intentional living.

She eloquently spoke about the signs of dissatisfaction that often go unnoticed in our daily grind and how they are invitations to reflect, realign, and grow. She encouraged students and faculty alike to embrace challenges as opportunities for recalibration and to pursue a life driven by purpose rather than habit.

Key Takeaways from the Session:

  • Pay attention to dissatisfaction: It’s often a call for change and growth.
  • Don’t settle for mere existence: Pursue meaning, passion, and purpose in life.
  • Recalibrate intentionally: Don’t wait for life to force you to make changes; take proactive steps toward a more intentional and fulfilling journey.

An Engaging Q&A Session

The highlight of the event was the interactive Q&A session, where students eagerly sought insights from the author on topics ranging from overcoming self-doubt to finding their unique paths. Her relatable anecdotes and candid advice left a lasting impression on the audience.

About Pegasus: The Student Book Club

This session marks yet another milestone for Pegasus - The Student Book Club, which aims to foster a love for reading, writing, and intellectual growth.
